The end of an era: TI Launchpad now costs $5?

I just noticed that TI seems to have raised the MSP430 Launchpad price from $4.30 to $5:

It still says $4.30 on some parts of the page, and on some other pages.

On the bright side, they seem to have upgraded the CPU's that come with the Launchpad. It originally came with two CPU's that each had

2K of program flash and 128 bytes of ram. Then they upgraded one of them, so you got a 2K/128B part and a 16K/512B part. Now they upgraded the other, so you get a 8K/256B and a 16K/512B. I guess those two upgrades increased costs a little bit.

Anyway I thought this was amusing.
