Small flash 8051 parts

Hello

I would like to try using a small 8051 type device in place of the usual PIC / AVR solution that usually fill the small micro space.

I am aware of the Atmel AT89Cx051 series, but is there any other parts that would meet the following -

  • Flash or EEPROM memory
  • UART
  • 2.5 to 5 volt,
  • direct LED drive output pins
  • ISP programmable
  • cheap or homebrew programmer available

thanks,

Colin

Yes, Cygnal has a bunch of these all the way down to $0.99 in quantity one! We support a few in both hardware and software:

Also have a look at the new 89LPC900 family from Philips.

You might also look at Cygnal. They have a bunch of 8051 parts and some very reasonably priced development packages. I just got their development kit for the part that includes a USB interface and I'm very happy with it so far.
