RS-485 LCD Interface

I am creating a concept for a project I am working on. It requires multiple LCD displays (text or graphic). Ideally I would like to chain four displays on an RS-485 port. Because of the short timeline I am unable to design a custom "backpack" for any of the LCD displays out there. Does one any one here know of a product that receives RS-485 and interfaces to an LCD? Something similar to the RS-232 LCD to LCD interfaces, only RS-485 (with address switches on it)

Thank you, Timothy D. Swieter

This is an older product I designed using an MSP430 to drive a 4 line backlit lcd. It uses an RS-485 port and can be powered directly from

+12V. The backlight and contrast are all controlled via software. There is also room for an infrared sensor and led just above the module.

There are no address switches on them but they are easy to setup on the coms link if you connect then one at a time. You can change the address via a command which will then be locked in Flash thereafter.

The only link I have at the moment:

When I click on the link I get an error message too - same as Donald reported. I went to the root link though and was able to navigate your site and see the pictures. Your products looks like it might work.

Does anyone else know anything else similar to what Peter has?

Hi Tim, I've updated the site with a little extra information. I'm not sure why the link didn't work for you but try this new one.

I think Matrix Orbital has RS-485 interfaces for their displays.
