RCM2100 program util

Hi Group,

I have an Rabbit Semi RCM2100 module. I have a serial programming cable, but I require a PC programming utility in order to write / read program code to the RCM2100.

Which program utils are available?

Can you post web-links or my options?

Thank you for your feedback.

In order to program an RCM2020 (which I presume will be the same as the RCM2100) you need a program from Rabbit called RFU.exe along with "coldload.bin" and "pilot.bin". The problem is that these files are dependent on the version of Dynamic C that was used to create the program. Past experience (several years ago now) with tech support at Digi (who took over Rabbit)

was very positive and they supplied all the setup and files needed. I suggest you contact them.

For what it is worth though, there can be issues in using the USB/RS232 adaptor. I am not sure if it is PC/Windows version dependent or the adaptor itself. To complicate the process, the setup within rfu allows for the option to use a USB to serial converter or just serial. Counter-intuitively it needs to be set to a regular serial connection. At one point Rabbit was selling an adaptor cable that worked better than others, but they no longer do that.

Good luck.

I should have mentioned RFU and the bin files are part of the Dynamic C installation. If you have you original disk and/or installed on a machine, you should already have the correct files.

One final thing- it is possible to clone a board without needing a PC interface at all. See the TN207

). I don't know if it is still available- again, check with Digi.
