"Protein paint"? (Rubbery nonslip paint)

Does anyone know the official name (and/or a source) for the rubbery paint used on the Apple Newton, IBM ThinkPads, etc? I would really like to use some of this for a handheld product application. Googling finds a lot of weird recommendations involving chalkboard paint and baby powder :/

Thanks.

"Rubbery nonslip paint" says "Urethane" to me, but goodness only knows how much new stuff these chemists have come up with in the last few years!

It could also be some form of silicone.

As far as knowing just what they paint Newtons with -- I dunno.

The Plasti-Dip stuff that hardware stores sell may be good enough. If you need something more specialized, the same guys have some OEM formulations.

Dunno, but I was taking to a smallish Asian contract mfr recently, and they knew exactly what to use.
