Multiplexer with 4-20ma inputs

Hallo, may I connect 4-20ma signals directly to a multiplexer?

Many Thanks Marco

Yes you may.

More detail, please.

The general answer is no. 4-20mA (current loop) signals and logic devices (assuming that's what you mean by "multiplexer") cannot be directly connected to one another. (Current loop is an analog, current-driven system, while most logic is based on a digital voltage-driven system.)

The question as it stands makes little sense.

system,

There are analog multiplexers including single chip devices. Wether they are good for 20 mA, well...

Marco:-

Please do *not* multi-post. If you must post the same question to multiple appropriate newsgroups, please crosspost so that you don't waste everyone's time. There are a number of answers already in sci.electronics.design.
