Motorola PowerQUICC FCC Ethernet MTU issue ...

We are using Motorola MPC8248's two FCCs as Ethernet ports. Somehow we need to transmit frames two octets longer than normal maximum. The normal maximum frame length allowed to transmit seems to be 1522 (FCS included) by our trial and error. But we would like it to be 1524. We know there is a MFLR register to specify how long an incoming frame can be. But what we concern is the transmit direction. Is there a way to achieve that or simply impossible for MPC8248? Any clues will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
