Medical electronics, or interfacing to Terumo Advanced Perfusion System 1

Not sure where to go for this information. Some puzzling things in their specification. For example: 16 bit checksum expressed in two hex ASCII characters. Encoding actually used for UTF-8 version of Device Names (BOM?!). I'd really like some hex dumps of the serial traffic, especially from a non-English machine.

TIA, Bill

Eek! If I'm ever hospitalized, I really hope any machines to which I'm connected weren't developed by wiki... Doesn't Terumo have an applications support engineering contact?

I'm inclined to agree but the capitalist model does not encourage sharing for the common good (sounds dangerously like socialism). Better have a few lawyers fighting over the corpse. But sadly, that is the Anglo-Saxon way. Stay away from it if you can.

But does anybody have any information.

Oh, and we are only trying to log what the device is saying, presumably for the post mortem.
