How to build a simple FM transmitter (with PLL)

Im interested in building an fm transmitter, but one that uses a single ic with minimal external components.

The ones Ive seen however dont allow for on the fly frequency tuning (either serially or via digital pot), or they dont use a PLL.

Anyone have any experience building one of these, or could recommend a chip manufacturer?

You might get some good ideas on:

rec.ham-radio,rec.ham-radio.misc,rec.ham-radio.swap

where the radio amateurs (ham radio) may have suggestions for you.

Take a look at Maxim MAX2606-9 and search for the Application Note AN1869. It should meet your requirements... Bye

The ADF7012 by Analog has a bit of everything on it. It would be my low cost development choice in order to keep my design diverse.
