Embedded Intel Optane?

I was asking about Optane memory in another group and it occurred to me tha t while it is to expensive to make a SSD from, is it affordable to use at s maller scale? It is supposed to be cheaper, but slower than RAM, faster bu t more expensive than Flash. Would Optane be compatible enough with MCU pr ocessing that it could be included on chip instead of Flash?

They have to play games to make flash not hold back even mid-range MCUs. O ptane might be fast enough to allow even chips like those used in cell phon es fly.

The rPi uses an SDRAM soldered on top of the CPU. To get on that bus the O ptane might need to be in the same package with the SDRAM or do they stack memory chips in layers with through vias?

afaik only the oldest rPi used stacked dies. With the faster chips heat bec omes a problem
