What You'll Do John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) Embedded Software team is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop embedded software for high-tech agricultural products. In this position, you will: =95 Be a member of an Agile software development team, working closely with other team members to ensure that the software, electronic and mechanical hardware function together to meet or exceed the product specifications =95 Be responsible for developing high quality embedded software for John Deere ISG products =95 Create and evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance, collaborating with other functional engineers, supply management or marketing/customer support personnel as needed
What It Takes
=95 We need an excellent communicator with a minimum of 2 years of experience in embedded software product development using C++. =95 Ideally, you would have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
We also require:
=95 Software process application experience (minimum 1-2 years experience) =95 Object Oriented Analysis/Design experience (minimum 1-2 years experience) =95 Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) application experience (minimum
1-2 years experience) =95 Must be a self-starter, able to work well without close direction, both in the office and in the field =95 Must interface successfully with engineers and personnel of other disciplinesA strong candidate will have:
=95 Experience using WinCE, Linux, Qt, UI frameworks, OpenGL, Database Architect/SQL, DDS Middleware, Geometry/Math Wiz, Agile, and Enterprise Architect =95 Experience with Agile software development practices =95 Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and software test automation =95 Good understanding of electronic hardware (reading schematics and component data sheets, operating meters, oscilloscopes and emulators). =95 Advance Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
