DSP Systems Engineer

The Company

Our client is a venture capital funded, fabless, mixed-signal semiconductor company completing the development of a low-cost IRFPA (Infrared Focal Plane Array), for high-value commercial applications. The company has a strong patent position covering its innovative core technology. The product uses standard submicron semiconductor manufacturing designs and custom MEMS post processing. After releasing a beta version to customers they are committed to developing the next generation product, that will be more sensitive, higher resolution and lower cost.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain hardware and software for products that incorporate DSP processors and FPGA devices. Develop custom image enhancement and noise reduction algorithms. Ongoing support of existing DSP and FPGA software and firmware.

Skills & Competencies:

A minimum of 10 years experience developing real-time embedded DSP systems and FPGA firmware with focus in image processing. Familiarity with TI DSPs and ACTEL or Xilinx FPGA devices is a plus.

Motivated, responsible team player, with good communication skills Real-time DSP software design and implementation using software development tools. VHDL design and implementation for FPGA devices. Image processing algorithm design and implementation. C++, C and assembly language programming. Formal software development methodology. Attention to details and documentation Self starter with proven performance in a startup environment, e.g. working with limited facilities and minimal support staff.

Education, Experience and Expertise:

University degree in EE or comparable is required. Incumbent shall have at least 10 years experience developing real-time embedded DSP systems and FPGA firmware with focus in image processing.
