CanOpen: DSP402, Modes

Hi,

A question about the CanOpen DSP 402.

Why are there deifferent modes? (homing mode, ...)

The standard hides the drives electrical principle. It only defines drives modes:

- profile position mode - where the drive itself is clever enough to reach a commanded position

- profile velocity mode

- torque mode

- velocity mode

- homing mode - different modes where the drive itself again tries to reach a mechanical reference point.

all these modes can be used with 'servo', stepper or others.
