En VGA omskifter til smid-i-nakken-pris vil fint klare 1080p, så længe du kører analogt RGB eller YUV.
Hvis du kører hdmi skal du investere lidt flere penge i en HDMI omskifter af en art, se:

Tænk hvis det ikke var MPAA der havde bestemt hvordan hd signaler skulle overføres, så kunne vi nøjes med en simpel et polet HD-SDI omskifter til en 5'er, billige BNC stik og 75Ohms kabler:

... men nej, nu er verden blevet bebyrdet med en rådden, DRM inficeret, specifikation som HDMI som kræver både specielle, dyre kabler som ikke kan trækkes over 5m og dyr elektronik i begge ender som ofte ikke virker sammen med andre mærker.
