Powerline Networking Question

With this technology can you supply a neighbor with internet if they share the same utility power transformer? Thanks!

You can do that with a WiFi router. At one time I could pick from over a dozen of my neighbors.

That was hit & miss (dropped even with a booster). I just wondered if it would work in this case.

That's a definite maybe. I have a Zyxel setup that works in some - but not all - outlets. An outlet with a couple of UPS units connected apparently attenuates the signal too much or that outlet and the outlet the other Zyxel unit s on are on different sides of the split

120/240 volt feed.

So your neighbor *ight* be able to use powerline networking on some of his outlets - and he might not. You'd have to experiment to see.

If they're that far away, use a better antenna. I've seen reports of Chinese cookware used at a couple of miles. ;-)
