Memory for Canon Power Shot and other small digital cameras

When I bought my Power Shot, it came with a 4G memory card. I had no idea how much that would amount to in pix or video. I found out last night video that for video it's about 40 minutes. I would prefer maybe a

6G memory card. My wife has been looking at them on the web and has found they are rated by levels or classes. What do these classes mean in terms of speed?

Look it up. Keep in mind that there was an original speed classification, and then more recently others were added on. Not sure how much the new numbers are a standard or not.

Don't forget, what matters is the camera. Faster memory won't mean a thing unless the camera actually makes use of it. Faster memory won't make the camera take pictures faster, or more frames per second, it's just about moving the picture to the memory.

Isn't also about downloading the card to a computer?
