zener question

That'd work! I thought it was 7A for some reason.

Yeah, these babies have 60 mil pins.

I used them for car amps that used a center tapped output choke to get 30 W PC off of 14 volts. Each one worked into 2 ohms. they did not blow, though I had to bias them low because they are germanium.

The only other use I ever had for them was in a DC/DC convertor in a 1,000 watt 10 meter mobile linear. I knew what the guy was using it for... :-) He was a coworker though so I accommodated him.

I measured the forward Vbe on these things and it was like 0.18 volts. (on as DVM though) I imagine Vcesat was also stellar but leakage was rated up i n the mA, not uA. I think Vceo was only like 35 volts. I could load 4 ohms on these amps, maybe less but then the fuse might have to be higher than th e rating of the wire for the supply... LOL

I wish I could get more. I don't have an immediate use for them but it is b etter to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it. Th at is why most people have guns. (hopefully)

And they had those thick aluminum cases (TO-3) not the thin steel ones. Can one actually love a transistor ?
