One thing I've noticed is that while these fractal terrain generating libraries can make convincing texture maps of Earth-like planets, they never seem to generate continent structures as strikingly recognizable as Earth itself.
I wonder if it's just because I'm used to seeing what Earth looks like, or if it's because they don't model any kind of plate tectonic evolution.
