Rework with LitePlacer

I have some generic PCBs that i need to rework by placing 0805 resistors for configuring. Seems that a generic PCB heater is needed for 180C preheat (simple), plus a way to heat the part to be placed, as well as pad areas for reflow (not easy).

Soldering schemes i thought of: laser to heat and/or spot weld IR beam to heat focused airflow to heat tweezer probes configured for spot welding soldering iron soldering gun

Has anyone done this? What would it cost to have the LitePlacer appropriately modified?

Thanks.

How are you going to place the solder paste? Once it has parts on it, it will be hard to use a solder stencil.

We use adhesive-dispenser for paste (needs shop air), and a Zephyrtronics hot-air system, air pencil and under preheat, nice, necessary for super-small stuff.

But 0805 parts are quite easy to do by hand. Remove quickly with a tong-style talon soldering handle. To install, place a dot of solder on one pad, hold the 0805 with curved flat-end tweezer and tack one end down with your small-tip soldering iron. Then do the second end, and back to redo the first end.

No chance, not worth the effort,do it by hand... soldering iron, fine tip and tweezers.

Has anyone modified something like the LitePlacer appropriately to do simple (adding parts) rework?
