Hmm... I just noticed that the Power Setting on my WiFi router was set to 4 (out of 10). Maybe that's why my laptop keeps dropping the signal from the living room.
Increasing it to level 7. Will see what happens...

I have had nothing but problems from Dlink products. I had a wired router and that one would hang every few days and require a power cycle.
I bought a newer model for my parents and coached them on what to look for but theirs seems to work fine.
So I figured ha just got a bad one and tried the d-link wireless router and PCMCIA card combo. This combo gave me fits. It would work fine for a week or so then quit. I'd fiddle, fight, change settings restart several times and nothing. Then it would magiclly start working again. Sometimes it was the card sometimes it was the router.
Finally the router died and I gladly tossed it in the trash. I bought the linksys 54G because lynksys users are writing their own firmware for it. At least that give a fighting chance to get firmware bigs fixed in a reasonable amount if time.

The Dlink card was still touch and go but better than with the dlink router. I finally tossed that and got a belkin 54G PCMCIA card and havent looked back. This combo had been solid for me and can go completely across my 2500 sqft 1 story house without losing the signal. At the extremes through a bunch of sheetrock the signal does get low but I dont totally lose connectivity.
