RC2100 2.4GHz radio module problem

Hi All,

Has anyone used the Radiocrafts RC2100 2.4GHz radio module?

I'm having problems with this, namely receiving of data seems to have corruption (which presumably means the transmitter has grabbed the wrong data as there are 2 levels of CRCing going on, packet cshould have been rejected otherwise). Might be my fault, but two engineers have found the same problem on two different projects. Anyone else had any problems with it?

Thanks!

Not familiar with it. I do know that multiple transmitters in the same ISM band (2.4GHz, even some of the older gear at 5.8GHz) can interfere with each other. Particularly if one or both devices are DSSS (direct-sequence, spread- spectrum) types.

The frequency-hopping varieties are someone more immune (though not

100%) to this ISI interference problem.

Is this the case with your ZigBee hardware? I don't know. Good luck,

Thanks. Any radio clash is not the problem here unfortunately. The module has 2 levels of CRC checking on data received, both radio level and RS232 level, and it thinks it has received valid data but dumps it out incorrectly (or more likely it dumps out what was really transmitted and it's a problem at the transmitter grabbing incorrect data in the first place).

Mark.
