Proto soldering techniques, web videos

Hi all,

I've just finished putting together this new site which has more than a dozen web videos on soldering techniques

You can get a free membership there, which lets you see 5 videos on hand soldering fine-pitch quad flat pack components.

In the upgraded membership there are a bunch of videos on "toaster-oven soldering", "frying pan solder pot soldering", etc.

If you solder prototypes or if you do alot of soldering of small batches of boards, then these videos might give you some new ideas on how to save time & money.

Of if you just wanted to know how to hand solder fine-pitch quad flat packs, then the free membership reveals all:)

Cheers,

Tony Burch

Or you could go to youtube and get them all for free, without having to give up your personal information or hard-earned cash.

I'd be curious to know the quality of Tony's before doing that... just as a book is sometimes better (being more organized and focused) than a Google search, some nicely packaged videos on one topic could be better than YouTube searches.

Sort of like the tutorials (with videos) at SparkFun?

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies.

I like the stuff on YouTube. I like the Sparkfun stuff too - it's exellent. Both highly recommended.

But I don't think anyone gets their info from just one place...

You should check out the

videos too. If you are interested in soldering, there is some real value there with a unique perspective & original material from my personal experiences.

My Australian accent may be "surprising", but it's probably OK:)

The 5 videos in the free membership are free. I only ask first name & email address when joining, and then you can unsubscribe from the email list immediately if you want to - you get to keep the free lifetime membership so that you can watch the videos any time. I fully respect members & email privacy.

You are welcome to look at the offer of upgrade for more videos there, but there's absolutely no obligation. The free membership stuff is free. For free members I don't want your hard-earned cash - if you can get some good info & tips that you haven't heard before, then I am very happy & satisfied that I've passed on something useful.

Enjoy & cheers,

Tony Burch
