OT: Robot vacuum cleaners

I guess that depends on what you mean by "religion" and "politics". Since both are properties of humans (belief and society), it's pretty hard to separate them completely in a free society.

Vacuum cleaners are kind of a small application. These autonomous systems are about to explode on the scene, it won't take but a few years after introduction before they're doing everything. And this simply because people suck.

They're also experimenting with using robots for simple tasks in assisted living.

Well, that's sad news for my grandmother who was a live-in house keeper in

1955. She did everything , cook, clean house, wind clocks, empty trash, wash laundry, and do the shopping. When I visited, she let me wind the clocks. She had a big key chain with all the keys to all the 8 day clocks. It was a big place.

Sorry, the US District Court of Nebraska has ruled the FSM to not be a valid religion but rather a parody of a religion. I can't dispute this, rather my question is how this is distinct from what others consider to be religion. So wearing a pirate costume is not valid religious dress, but the Catholic Pope's outfit is??? Believing the world was created in 6 days is less crazy than the world being created by pasta? Should I mention virgin birth?

Aren't *all* religions actually just thinly disguised parody?

As in Trump wants to shut down or deport any Islamic activity in the USA?

That depends whether you can do rationality or not. Politics is supposed to be about rational arguments, and religion is allowed to be irrational.

Krw can't actually manage rational argument (though he probably isn't aware of this) so it won't strike him as a salient difference.

The judge said it is not so much an issue of Constitutional law as it is of reading comprehension. The web site for the church of the FSM says it is a parody of a religion. Darn! One little mistake!!! Maybe they should change it to "This is NOT a parody!" That would fool even the Supreme Court of the US.
