OT: Robot vacuum cleaners

No, seriously, do you actually believe in gods? What sort? Do they do miracles and stuff? Do you kneel before them?

Pray tell.

Big problem, unfortunately: Pascal's wager doesn't give any guidance on whether to worship Jehovah or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Not even a little bit useful.

No, seriously, why do you care? I know you lefties are compelled to get into everyone else's business (and control them) but, seriously, get a life of your own.

You really are a bigot. It is the norm for leftists.

The trip to Texas was for my grand Niece's HS graduation. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and is headed for UTSA (University of Texas at San Antonio) to study IT. She is also a good soprano singer and sang a duet with her younger brother in two part harmony. It was a Xmas song (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen). I gave her a package of two dollar bills as a graduation present. .

I was exhausted when I got home We had to transfer planes at Phoenix and there was a 2 hour delay. On the return trip we transferred planes in Los Vegas where I saw two rows of slot machines but didn't play any. Security was easy and I didn't see any bags being opened. But my shoes set off the alarms, so I had to take off my shoes and put them through the scanner There was no security check when transfering planes since you disembark.into a secured area. But we did have another 2 hour delay leaving Vegas. All seats were taken on all 4 flights and we had high numbers in the B group so we sat in the rear of the plane. But that was convenient if you needed the rest room which was only a few steps away.

Here's a picture of the family having lunch. There are nine people with by brother on the front right and me to the rear of him. To the rear of me is the father of the graduate and her grandmother. On the left side is my Niece in the front, followed by her young son, my brother's girl friend, a friend of the graduate, and the graduate on the far left side. It was a table for nine.

When I first started "getting older" (whatever that means) I was pleasantly surprised at how *well* I was "taking" the changes; reduction in eyesight, strength, stamina, aches and pains, etc. I figured "this isn't too bad!" and assumed I could now put any concerns over "aging" behind me.

What caught me completely off-guard was "knowing dead people"! It never occurred to me that this, also, was a natural consequence of increased time on the planet!

Now, when I encounter folks that I've not seen (or spoken with) in a while, I force myself to run through an "update" of my records concerning them -- just to make sure I don't ask about the health of so-and-so (only to be reminded that so-and-so passed away last year, etc.).

This is particularly stressful for those so-and-so's that are younger (or CONSIDERABLY younger) than me!

Robert Baer isn't well-informed. Religion loves meddling in politics, and modern nation states spend quite a lot of effort trying to keep religion out of politics.

The USA isn't as modern as it might be, despite the best efforts of the founding tax evaders. Iran is even worse, and Israel isn't much better.

God-botherers really do think that they know better than everybody else, and that gives you Prohibition and the War on Drugs.

Actually, they mix quite well, particularly when one side of the political spectrum is out to shut down religion.
