OT: New Hope for Tattooed Mice

We all know the problem. You own a pet hairless mouse and just to make him or her a little bit less drab for your guests when they call, you decide to get your pet a tattoo. It doesn't cost much and it really makes your mouse stand out as different from other mice and considerably more eye-catching. But after say 6 months, you regret your decision. That Nazi Totenkopf you thought was so cool, but with the benefit of hindsight conveys the wrong impression of your pet. Guests find him/her intimidating. Sound familiar? Well, the good news is there's now an effective tattoo removal creme you can use to restore your mouse to original condition. It has the brand name Picato and is very reasonably priced for what it does:

"A placebo-controlled study on hairless mice found that 0.1% ingenol mebutate gel [Picato] was able to remove two-week-old tattoos consistently. It was observed that the microspheres within the skin containing the dye would exude into the scab intact and slough off as the skin healed about 20 days after treatment began. This mechanism appears to be independent of ink color, unlike laser tattoo removal, which is less effective for certain colors."

Will that work on the male (roller) mice just as well as on the female (optical) mice?

So long as they're hairless, I don't see why not.
