From ZeroHedge - more Russian mis-information.

Quite why Cursitor Doom thinks that Venezuela is "socialist" escapes me. It's a failed state, and the people running it haven't got any principles at all - socialist or otherwise - though they will claim anything that might let them look principled and competent for a moment or two.

It's certainly not a paradise.

The idiots did nothing to relive their total dependence on foreign imports for their basic necessities. So when their currency deflated during the oil market recession, the cost of those imports went sky high and became unaff ordable. That coupled with other forms of typical government mismanagement of their situation led to the present condition.

Chavez's drunken sailor style spending (including sending money to London pensioners to help them heat their homes!) broke the bank. Socialism always fails in the end because - as Margret Thatcher observed - eventually you run out of other people's money. Sloman can't see this, though. He thinks you can just print or borrow as much as you please without consequence.

Norway's form of socialism seems to be working pretty good, to the point that Trump respects Norwegians and recently said, why can't we get more of them to come here? Norway was rated the "happiest country in the world" last year. The US came in 14th place.

Sanders is a known idiot and 1950s era Stalinist. In his diseased mind the government can do no wrong. The idiot fought hard to prevent Congressional oversight hearings of the Veterans Administration scandal, one of the worst in history, with their secret lists that killed thousands. Nobody seems to want to bring that one up. Then lately the idiot has been chastising the U .S. response to the Puerto Rico hurricane recovery, and here we find all th at trouble is being caused by the Puerto Rico government themselves, most o f whom need to be dragged out of their cushy offices and summarily shot dea d through the head.

Of course, the diseased brain Stalinist will re main silent on this revelation because it is government corruption once aga in. Since it is so much easier to deal with corruption in the private secto r than the government, this should tell any sane person that you don't want government controlling anything.

They also stopped spending money on their oil fields. Instead of producing more, using technology, they've been producing way less oil (with fewer operational wells). They're the laughingstock of even OPEC.

Right. Be more like Norway. Are you _sure_ you want to get rid of

*all* minorities?

The norwegians have a very nice royal family ...

I just doubt that they would like to be exported.

controlling

One of my wife's friends is in Puerto Rico trying to get their power system back together. He was saying that the local mayors control who gets power and who doesn't. He could get 100 people back on line, or one. The mayor ay insist that they take care of his friend, rather than the hundred. Or, may just not allow them to reconnect anyone he doesn't like. It's a mess. Let them figure it out.

The real point is that nobody knows how to manage a productive economy. Everybody who tries gets into radically unstable causality loops and things go to hell, hyperinflation being one most common indicator of managerial incompetance.

Excuse me Jim, it was your friend Trump admiring Norwegians, not me. I have plenty of Norwegian friends, and like them, but I prefer the US, although sadly we're going downhill rapidly under Trump. Citizen's opinion, by a 2:1 margin. But not to worry, we'll start fixing things, Nov 2018.

"Citizen's opinion"? As "surveyed" by the leftist press... remember, that press who "predicted" the election so accurately?

I quite assure you that a HUGE majority of middle-America approve of Trump's "shit-hole countries" comment. ...Jim Thompson

300 Million Americans don't read NYT, WaPo, Huffington Post, CNN,
USA Today, Time, NewsWeek, or any other left-wing propaganda
machine, and don't give a flying @#$% what their or their reader's
opinions are. Likewise the leftist Hollywood "Star" parrots.

It would be *great* if the West could reconstruct the kind of world we lived in back in the 1950s when sanity still prevailed. But I won't be holding my breath.
