OT: Hare-Brained Idea of the Century

AKA the Rotovator and it needs an asteroid in the middle with reaction motors to account for the mass grabbed hold of/let go by the end that dips into atmosphere, and yes, the stresses are substantial when loading and unloading.

That's more "black sky" engineering than the blue-sky kind with this skyhooked building idea.

"Radical skyscraper design from a New York City firm will be built from the sky down" reminds me of a story i heard, that in Italy, a building is defined (legal) when the roof is made,,,so that is built first!

Top-down architecture is not new. Forget computer programming...
