Did you actually read the text? The glacier seems to have been reacting to a cooling phase the Multidecadal Atlantic Oscillation

Nobody said that it was "proof of climate change". It's not inconsistent with anthropogenic global warming, which isn't saying that it's any kind of confirming evidence.

It would be more interesting to follow how agriculture is currently developing in Greenland.
Just 1000 years ago there wee forests and vikings had several hundred farms in several colonies in SW Greenland. The colonies dies out a few hundred years later with the Little Ice Age.
The situation today is still far from the best conditions during the Viking era.
