It's good news for Ford, who can't make the margins work on smaller cars when they're manufactured in the US for domestic sales. Might as well build them closer to their primary market, yeah?

The plants aren't laying off workers, they're just being re-purposed to make more Expeditions and the upcoming Bronco III.

Americans never saw a $50,000 SUV available to "purchase" on credit that they didn't like.

Also even as a small car the Focus sucks balls compared to the competing offerings from Kia, Honda, Mazda, etc.

The Focus is a Chinese "quality" small car relative to its competitors at the best of times, it deserves to be manufactured there.
