I am trying to make mine more handicapped friendly, while I can still do most of the work. The next project is another entry door, directly from my bedroom, to the driveway. Both of the existing entry doors are at the other end of the house. It's fun making your own door facings out of pressure treated 2X8" lumber. The steel door that I have weighs several hundred pounds, and has an extended fire rating. Oh, well, I bought a pair of them for $20 each from a surplus store about 15 years ago.
I may have to break down and ask the county & Vets Helping Vets to do some of the harder jobs, even if I prefer doing the jobs by myself. :(
