OT: Crackdown on Electric Cars!

Cursitor Doom's idea of credible supporting evidence is the kind of nonsens e that gets peddled in the Daily Express, the Daily Mail, and Russia Today. He hasn't woken up to the fact that it's designed to keep right-wing nitwi ts happy - as opposed to well-informed.

Why is it that the most unproductive members of our society blame the most productive members of our society for their failures?

In the Daily Wail's case, it is designed to keep quarterwits worrying about unimportant things. That means their attention is deflected away from some important matters.

As for why the proprietors do that, choose your explanation from simple greed through to sinister manipulation :)

If the particulate generation is proportional to the kinetic energy of the vehicle then a bicycle would only cause a fraction of 1% of the particles of a car.

But even .1% is 1000ppm, which is WAY too high! Anything above zero is bad.

The brake lining/pad particulate problem was addressed quite a few years ago. When I was a lad, brake linings were often metal-filled asbestos. ...Jim Thompson

Nice! I hope you have lots of fun blasting CO2 in the faces of your local Green Party members with that. ;->

Somehow The Express has managed to spam the UK google news front page with stories about NIBIRU FINAL WARNING: 'Just how long does Earth have left before Planet X doom?'

In the "science section" no less, with daily variations for about 2 months now.

I think that tells me all I need to know about the quality of their journalism.
