OT: At last! Some humor in the news

Townhall isn't quite as funny as it likes to think.

The piece is clearly intended to be comical, but it wouldn't make it in the New Yorker, or any publication aimed at adults.

The really funny part is there's an element of something CNN hates, the truth, in it:

"I mean, it's mostly bullshit right now..."

CNN views its audience as "adorable":

"It's a business, people are like the media has an ethical phssssss... All the nice cutesy little ethics that used to get talked about in journalism school you're just like, that's adorable. That's adorable. This is a business."

When I lived in North Scottsdale , 47-23 years ago, Charles used to frequent the Native New Yorker a few blocks from where I lived.

Charles is really a nice guy, signed autographs for everyone, but didn't care for people getting in his face...

One evening a drunk keep harassing Charles who was there with his young daughters.

Charles stood up and clobbered the guy with one punch, sat down and resumed eating his wings. We all cheered.

The COPs came and took the drunk away, never even questioned Charles ;-) ...Jim Thompson

He has a point there. It always seems to be most boring, vacuous, inane, stolid bozos who have the most to say about themselves - and none of it is worth a look. Really genuinely interesting people tend to not volunteer anything about themselves. It's practically a mathematical law.

Social media is also great for family communications. It's really the only way we get to see our granddaughter grow up and keep in touch with the extended family. Of course, security is an issue but that's pretty easy to handle.
