Fair comment, but I thought the economy was supposed to be strong and growing? From this news item it looks like things are the same as they were back in 2009.

How are you going to control the rest of their lives that way?

C-suite executives are making a lot more than they were in 2009.

What? The fact that there are panhandlers means the economy is in the crapper? Did you even read the article? As a reading comprehension test, what were the reasons listed that panhandlers don't have jobs?

Yes, the economy *is* in the crapper. The proof of that is the persistence of near-zero interest rates 8 long years after the Crash. The sad fact is that America has lost its way and only Trump can fix it.

He can bring in Russian investors because US banks and investors won't support a winner, build many golf resort casinos and high rise buildings, file for bankruptcy, leave the US economy to clean up the mess, and make a huge amount of money. He understands debt very very well and is a very smart winner. Many people do not understand debt. Those people are the losers socialist anti-capitalists. They don't make any money.

Ah. That must be a new definition of "fix" that isn't yet in the dictionary.

Trump couldn't fix a leaky faucet. But it doesn't matter. He won't get the chance. He has been asked a few times what he will do when he loses. One time he said, ?I don?t think I?m going to lose, but if I do, I don?t think you?re ever going to see me again, folks." A few days ago he said, "...if at the end of 90 days I?ve fallen short ... it?s ok, you know, I go back to a, a very good way of life."

I expect he will still be in the news as he has been all through this campaign... like Charlie Sheen.

People really enjoy seeing how important, and very wealthy, people live a very good way of life. It's quite inspirational and can lead people to find better jobs and buy very high quality products which will produce very huge economic benefits for the US (things will be great again).

Yeah, and we won't see him ever again if he wins, either, thanks to Hitlary's covert assassination squad. What's the body count up to now?

He can take off his shirt and ride powerful horsies in Russia and be safe with his friends and business partners who want to build luxury golf resort casinos with helicopter landing pads and really great restaurants where the finest Hispanic food will be served using only the freshest and healthiest ingredients.

I'm not gonna say being wealthy is a bad thing, but it's a lousy basis in evaluating people. Some people get wealthy by actually creating value, but not all of them.

As the economy becomes generally hidebound, fewer and fewer wealthy people get that way by creating value. They get rich by what economists call "rent seeking".

Unfortunately, we as a culture slush rent seeking and the creation of consumer surplus together into a concept called "profit", so here's no telling how somebody got there. For most of the moderately to very rich, it'll be a mix.

Or worse yet: asset stripping.

A poor man's debt is a wealthy oligarch's leveraged wealth. From time to time, when that debt cannot be converted to negotiable cash, national treasuries can print legally negotiable tender and give it to the banks at no cost and then the economy works again because everybody can buy new phones and entertainment gear and very nice cars to go shopping in.

Except that he probably can... he started as an ordinary contractor.

Yep, Hillary has lots of "buffers"...
