Motherboard mounting -- standard?

With motherboard standards (atx, micro atx, itx etc etc etc) do the standards just designate the length and width of the board or are the mounting holes also standardized?

Say, would 2 atx boards from different manufacturers swap out fine and all (or most) of the mounting holes line up with the case standoffs?

I'm guessing yes -- but need to be absolutely sure.

THANKS

would anyone also have a link to a site with mobo mechanical drawings?

Yes, and a *lot* more. Though there are variations allowed, while maintaining compatibility.

Yes. It should be noted that the specific holes are optional; not all will be used and the ones in use may vary from board to board.

DAGS, but you may need to be a member of the sponsoring organization to get the complete specs. It's been a decade since I've been involved with this stuff.

Take care that old standoffs don't short out track on the new board.

Move the standoffs to where the new board's mounting holes are. Duh!
