Infowars exposes world takeover plot!

All governments collect taxes. Modern governments have found more things to do with their tax income, and collect more than less advanced governments

- contrast Sweden and Germany with the USA.

Stalinist-style central planning and direction didn't actually work - which is why the Soviet union fell apart. Germany does seem to have avoided that kind of problem, and works a whole lot better than the US and the UK.

Cursitor Doom doesn't know much, and the Mail keeps on feeding him nonsense which sustains his agitated ignorance, so he worries furiously about stuff that isn't a problem, and is blissfully ignorant about stuff - like rising levels of income inequality - which does matter.

As krw makes obvious at frequent intervals.

Krw has been out of touch with 14-year-olds for some time.

The One Child policy was instrumental in killing born and unborn girls.

Only a rabid communist would be dumb enough to not appreciate the consequences of forcing every couple to have one kid.

Not deaf. Discriminating.

Julian Barnes does post a lot of links to willfully ignorant nonsense. You have to be as dumb as Cursitor Doom to take that kind of twaddle seriously.

Female infanticide was a problem in China long before the one child policy. It's also a problem in India. And the Chinese didn't "force every couple t o have one child". They encouraged every couple who did have a kid to have only one, and penalised those that had more (not severely enough to stop it happening).

Even the rabid communists weren't dumb enough to miss the implications of l ower child mortality and higher life expectations for a country that could barely feed its existing population.

Did I say that? Bitrex writes rather better than any 14-year-old I even knew (or was).

Krw only wants to see confirmation of what he already thinks he knows. The idea that he might ever learn something new falls down on the fact that he never learns that he's been wrong.
