Hello Haseeb,

You will not find a complete superhet receiver design in it, but it covers all you need to understand and design (superhet) receivers: "solid state radio engineering", H.L. Kraus and others. It is easy to understand with practical examples.

Digging and making some misjudgment is part of the learning process.

Good luck with the design,

Book: Experimental Methods in RF Design Wayward, Campbell and Larkin

The first edition is on sale cheap as the second one just came out.

While not FM specfic, its a lot better then most texts out there if you need to learn something like front end design from scratch and experiment as the OP does.

At least try for a Phase Locked Loop and VCO , or something novel like a pulse counting demodulator.
