They should also cut management down to the bone; ZERO middle-management; make division managers responsible for increasing shareholders value and leave them alone when they do so.

They're not much lower on the food chain than KMart/Sears. Have you actually been in a KMart recently?

I was in a KMART once, I think, can't really remember if it actually happen ed or was a nightmare. And I never bought anything from Sears except tires and maybe a battery of two about 35 years ago. Online may be a superior ret ail methodology but it's the same minefield of low quality overpriced trash . There was a time when the big retailers had really expert buyers who nego tiated quality as well as price, it was important for the store to maintain a good reputation, but that era is pretty much dead.

KMart now is an experience. I bought some towels to use at the gym. They're low quality Cannon but were cheap. I knew what I was buying and they work for the purpose. The store is just as tacky as a dollar store and they have much of the same crap. I can't believe this particular KMart gets any traffic at all. It's in a rather up-scale city.

That's certainly true of Sears/KMart.
