Exponential Derivative

I have a math problem that requires a derivative I have never seen before. What is:

d( X + Xo )^n / dn ?

In this case the need is to differentiate the variable that raises to the power of. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

hint: take the log of both sides of e.g. y = (X + Xo)^n -> log(abs(y)) = n*log(abs(X+ Xo)) and use implicit differentiation + product rule

= d( e^ ( n ln(X+Xo) ) / dn
