They will try to deliver to a business address on Saturday or Sunday. I ordered a box of cookies (24 bags, actually) and they left it on the street, in the bus stop. A witness reported that it disappeared in seconds.
And I just ordered some USB temperature loggers, scheduled for Tuesday delivery, and they tried to deliver today, on Sunday. I hope they didn't leave those on the sidewalk too.

I saw that, weekend before last, in Michigan- multiple packages left on home doorsteps on a Saturday with no attempt to conceal.
Around there they've been fiddling around with (I think) their own courier and they have been attempting to deliver to business addresses on weekends as well as attempting delivery before normal business hours. So far they have not been stupid enough to just drop anything I needed on the sidewalk in front of the door but you never know.
I didn't have any trouble with today's (Sunday) delivery ;-) ...Jim Thompson

eBay doesn't have shipping. With eBay the shipping is entirely up to the seller. I envy your 99% reliability. Any time a vendor uses UPS I Have trouble with shipping. Fedex seems to always get it right... at least so far. USPS seems to do ok when it is entirely USPS, but there is a hybrid shipping where UPS handles the initial shipping to a regional USPS facility and USPS handles the final routing. That has worked ok so far.
Finally there is the international shipping that involves the post offices of two countries and someone in between. This has a rather poor track record with some 5% of the packages never showing up. The tracking seems to indicate the package gets lost before reaching the US, but who really knows? These are nearly all low cost, relatively unimportant supplies or tools I can live without until they are reshipped. Once I ordered a USB oscilloscope and the tracking just didn't follow the item. I got my money back, but that was strange.
The good thing with eBay is that you can always dispute a missing shipment and get a refund. The one time I had trouble with an Amazon shipment I had to dispute it on the credit card to get the money back. I'm just not a fan.
