It's good to remember women most places come in all different types and like all sorts of things might be surprised what women do and do not like.
One of the most attractive young women I went on a date with in recent years I did in fact bring up soldering on the date, probably not what most people would decide to try as a conversation starter on most first dates but it turns out she had a great uncle she liked a lot who had been a railway electrician. Well I guess they call it "getting lucky" for a reason...
