Component help - what is a V200LA40A

An acquaintance has a automotive machine tool (basically a mill) that died. He said that two fuses were blown and what looks like a disc capacitor was melted on a board that makes dc for a variable speed motor from 115VAC. No visible markings on the component but "V200LA40A" is silk screened under it. Naturally he has no diagrams or parts lists. Google comes up "no results" for that, which is kinda rare, usually it finds a million irrelevant hits :-). Can anyone help? Is this a cap or a varistor or some other protection device? Thanks in advance.

He got struck by lightning. Nearby maybe. Or it's just old.

It's a MOV.

Seems to be a custom voltage rating, which is odd, but I'm guessing it's just on the mains so put in whatever matches the line voltage. Digikey and Mouser are probably the easiest way to get a replacement, they're sold by nominal AC voltage.
