Connections/pin outs/ins for the Data Translation FG board

The video input connector, J1, on the DT3157 is a SCSI-II 68-pin, subminiature 'D' shell connector that accepts the digital input signals using cables from Data Translation or cables that you design. Figure 7 illustrates the J1 connector pin orientation.

Please show us (if you don't have a scanner or digital camera, you can get it scanned at Kinko's and the like) and we'll be more able to assist.

Cheers! Rich

Hi, I have both but what do you want me to show you? - Tony

Ideally, the schematics and operation manual of both devices, so we can figure out which pin should connect to which, or even if it's feasible.

Since you're posting from google, you can't access the binaries, so you'll have to find a website somewhere that lets you upload pictures - most ISPs that I know of come with a few megabytes of webspace; unfortunately, you're kind of on your own as far as finding, and posting to, one of these places.

Thanks, Rich

Is the serial interface a standard text menu system. The data sheet shows no commands.

IMO:

FG Cam AD0-11 < PDATA 4-15. You may have to terminate unused data lines. Check The datasheet on the FG board.

Tony, you may have a serious mismatch. It seems the camera presents a digital data output, with 12-bit LVDS (low-voltage differential signaling), very nice!, but the Data Translation board is an analog-input board, judging from pin names (I wasn't able to find the manual on their site). Your best bet is to get your hands on a proper Camelia FGT board. Happily, digital- input boards are much less expensive than analog ones.
