Big batteries

The first gen Volt's ~12kWh battery is on the far left, then the second gen's ~14kWh battery next, then the Spark EV's ~20kWh, then the Bolt's ~60kWh battery final.

160kW maximum power output from the Bolt's battery, cool. The Volt doesn't have a fast charging option and the onboard charger is limited to around 3.6kW off 220V service, but the display sometimes shows around 45kW being sent into the battery via regenerative braking going down steep grades.

I should be able to "fast charge" it by putting it in neutral and spinning the wheels backwards on a dyno then, right? Might have a negative impact on the odometer, though...

not backwards, forwards while (regen) braking

Why backwards?

Although you could charge if you are in neutral the PWM drive to the motor is disabled then. You would have to rotate the motor fast enough to transfer power through the diodes in the H-bridges.

You could emulate going down a hill by having the car in L and spin the wheels forward.

I had a Spark EV where the regen would go up to 60kW.

That pic is obviously faked. No real shop or bench could be that neat.

A friend of mine had a birthday party at a nightclub on the downtown strip that's a gay club sometimes, and other times is "general admission" for other events.

As I'm going in a very brah-looking guy says "You don't want to go in there. That's...that's a GAY club."

What I would've like to say: "Oh, no fooling? Why don't you tell me everything you know about it..."

I didn't though, because closet-cases tend to be angry and violent.

I originally wanted a Spark EV, but unfortunately they're only available in MD, OR, and CA, and I'm not in any of those places.

If I could find a used one in MD with the fast-charging option it would probably be possible to take the train down to pick it up, and drive it back to MA hitting up chargers along the way, in one day.

Gay guys are great. They leave more women for us.

My next-door neighbors are a gay couple. Steve lets me borrow his chain saw.

Well, at least we agree on something. ;-)

though unfortunately looking at the demographics map the single male to single female ratio in the Bay should be enough to convince any single young man not to move there, no matter how many gay men there are.

Good; they should stay away.

I thought electric cars were the kind that didn't have trannies. ;)

I'm sorry you find TV so disturbing.

Maybe you need a safe space.

You must be thinking of 20th century ones. The modern ones are really driven by trannies. I don't know whether they're IGBT, though.

Is a trannie a transformer, transmission, or transistor?
