If you'll take the time to read the Communist Manifesto, you'll find
that nearly every single article has been adopted by the government of
the United States, including state-owned schools, paper money, social
security, progressive taxation, etc. Most people don't understand
communism and democracy aren't mutually exclusive. In fact, history
seems to prove when people are given the chance to vote, they tend to
vote for communist ideas. Biden is clearly a communist. And a majority
of people in the U.S. seem to like it that way. I'm not one of them, as
you noted, which makes me a "libertarian." Funny, we used to just call
those people "Americans."

It's well known that developed countries have been slowly drifting that way
for quite some time. If one assumes that communism, properly executed --
which includes not just the order of social programs, but the entire
society's mindset, a much taller order -- is beneficial, then one can see
the world is slowly getting better. And slow is how it has to be, because
that social mindset part can only happen slowly, over many generations.
It's been proven several times now that a revolutionary, dictatorial
approach is disasterous.
Is communism good? Yes! Is it bad? Yes! Any model of government has its
ups and downs. What's more important is, is the current model well suited
to the society it serves? This is why we see a gradual change in
governments, reflecting the change in society, and why revolutions don't
work so well, because society remains the same.
(This said, it's funny how the average Usenet troller is too ignorant to
notice the above is hypothetical. Inevitably I will now be labelled a
communist, which is just perverse. Such is trolling...)

Then no government is good, because all governments tax their
citizens.
Of course, this is the Libertian manifesto, which conveniently ignores
the fact that the government is merely the biggest protection racket
in town. If you emasculate your government by stopping it from
collecting taxes, you are merely passing power over to the next
biggest protection racket in town who certainly will shake down the
population for enough money to support an adequate mob of enforcers.
