LMX9820 Bluetooth module

I'm curious to know if anyone has tried using the SET_DEFAULT_LINK_LATENCY request message successfully with the LMX9820 Bluetooth module? The software user guide states that firmware version

6.16 or later of the UART interface must be running for this command to be supported. The problem is not that the command does not take - I am using a LMX9820ASM part with firmware version 6.21, and I do get a valid confirmation that the request command worked. The issue is that I do not see any noticeable improvement in throughput when I crank the link latency lower and lower. I suspect the issue to be that the Bluetooth master (a Bluetooth/USB adapter, running with the WidComm stack on Windows through a SPP) does not really support the request message. Anyway if anyone has any information or has tried something similar, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance.
