Metal or Wood? For wood, get some cheap draw slides, and cut a 12" or 8" plank the width of the drawer and screw the slides on.

The slides have a notch for holding position when extended. They are not very rugged, but good for a keyboard.

Under a desktop, yes. Under a desk drawer (like the shallow pencil drawers where the chair opening is): This could be a problem. In most cases there is nothing structural underneath that drawer to attach one of these keyboard platforms to:

The drawer slides on either side spanning the entire opening mounted to the sides of the opening might be the way to go. Make sure the sides have some structural strength (not just a thin decorative panel). You could beef up the sides with horizontal boards run inside the side drawer boxes.

Good idea. It is wood, and has wood panels on both sides, so, addressing Paul Hovnanian's concerns, I'll mount to cabinet, not to drawer. ...Jim Thompson

I have a plastic drawer that fits under the desktop. It has side rails like a kitchen draw. It can be fitted with four brackets that either screw up or can be screwed to the sides. Mine came from "Tandy" here in the UK, so its a few years old now. The plastic has gone a little yellow otherwise its a good as when I bought it.
