There's a whole slew (precise technical term) of .1" spacing headers/connectors like, for example, those on PC motherboards.

If you want more 'secure' and/or keyed there's those too (like the audio connector on many CDROM drives)

CAT# CON-234 (4 pin) at Allelectronics

or go to

and put CON-234 in the search box.

I've also used 5 or 6 pin connectors and just ignored the extra pin(s) CAT# CON-55 (5 pin) and CAT# CON-236 (6 pin)

Don't they show the mating connector (a P/N and link) on the right of the page in accessories? Or am i misreading the catalog page badly?

What I'm confused about... does that "receptacle" come with crimp pins or do I need to buy something else?

Bear with me... I haven't bought parts in >20 years... no parts need to design chips :-) Besides, I had a technician/secretary that did all that for me back then :-) ...Jim Thompson

Well when i clicked on the text identifying the mating connector it took my browser to here:

Which has a link to a catalog page which shows up as:

&M=3DBYPN&LG=3D1&I=3D13

=46rom the catalog page i infer that contacts are separate as is the crimping tool (and possibly jaws for it).

Does this help?
