Inspect the PCB for visible signs of electrolyte leakage and associated swollen capacitors. If you're lucky, you won't have trouble finding appropriate replacements.

Many of this series (circa 2007) were recalled, the plastic backing plate behind the sockets on the back cracks around the mounting screw holes and falls off, the power socket rails (with 240v on them) fall out and land on the output transistors that drive the inverter. BANG. (of course, it could fall elsewhere and if your lucky just blow a fuse, or might be just out of reach of the pins of the plug you put in and appear dead)

While there is a plug in the socket, this holds the rails in place, unplug and put it back it dislodges the rails, pushes them back into the case

From what you describe, this is probably what happened to yours if you unplugged something , moved it and plugged it back in.

They will replace these units free, they have been recalled, a google search will lead you to the page with the model/serial numbers involved and the number to call to arrange..
